We have been busy planning more works, finding great dancers, and putting together an exciting KCDF Summer 2018. Our goal is to keep the highest quality of dance for Summer 2018 that the Dance Festival has provided to our audiences for the past 5 years.
KCDF’s 2018 event layout will educate you, inspire you, move you, and keep you anticipating the next event.
July 14th: Black box performances beginning at 7:30 PM ending with a meet & greet reception with the dancers from around the world. These performances will leave you viscerally alive and inspired! At Quixotic Blackbox Studio with the purchase of a VIP ticket!
July 20th: The main event at GEM THEATER at 7:30 PM. This event has been noted as the top dance event to come to in the summer months, so you don’t want to miss out!
On July 18th: Open Rehearsal and Dance Forum talk led by Anthony Krutzkamp and Logan Pachciarz with guest speaker, as well as a few other surprises. Small reception to follow. This event is a public free event for all! This event will occur from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
July 16-19th: Kansas City Dance Festival will hold master dance classes around the Kansas City community.
We have hired over 90 dancers since we incorporated as a festival in 2013. Many are from the Kansas City area, some from other nationally prominent companies including Joffrey, Miami City Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and worldwide from internationally known companies like Finnish National Ballet. Many of these dancers would otherwise be unemployed during the Summer months.
In 2018, we aim to continue the choreographic talent we’ve employed in past years, by hiring new acclaimed classical and contemporary choreographers who are known to be some of the newest and/or the greatest in the market, satisfying all pallets of our ever so appreciated audience members.
